As mentioned in recent days, we have made some adjustments to the layout of the arcade, putting SpaceWarp 66 back near the front and swapping that space with one of our exA-Arcadia cabinets. Speaking of that, we recently added a brand new game in the form of JITSU SQUAD FEATURING THE SAMURAI PIZZA CATS. This is an exclusive redesign of the existing Jistu Squad console game not only plays quite differently (much more action-packed and faster paced), it also has exclusive content as mentioned in the title with The Samurai Pizza Cats. We are the ONLY arcade in Utah with this game (and all of the other exA games )

Also as a quick note – we are working hard to get some games working which have been broken for a while now. In that effort, we’ve pulled Bubble Bobble 3 from the floor but replaced that with Metal Slug 6 – now working like it should! We’ll get BB3 back out once we can repair the CRT monitor (same thing with Toobin’).

We also are hoping to bring air hockey back to the arcade at some point during the summer, although there are no details to pass along on that quite yet as we haven’t decided which machine we will go with at the moment…but stay tuned!

That includes the entire Valley Fair Mall and us, so yes, we are CLOSED for Easter. We’ll be open back up on Monday however, so if you need to get a fun fix in, don’t be worried!

We also have recently added a new game to the mix by the name of JITSU SQUAD FEAT. SAMURAI PIZZA CATS. This is a brand new beat ’em up from exA-Arcadia, with fantastic graphics and lots of brawling mayhem. Think of the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which we also have) but on steroids. We’ll have more details on this game up soon.

We also have some exciting developments going into April. While this is usually a slow month for our business, we will have at least three new games showing up during the month.

DODONPACHI TRUE DEATH EXA LABEL

If you’re a fan of game developer CAVE and their sensational shoot ’em ups, then you will be pleased to know that we will be the first and only location in Utah with the recent remaster of CAVE’s most praised shmup ever. This “directors cut” version includes remastered visuals and sound, TATE support, super low input lag, and new game modes, including the new EXA Mode which actively adapts the difficulty to how you are playing. This will be setup with a vertical screen on our new EXA ARC-1 cabinet.

Asteroids Recharged & Avian Knights Location Test

We are going to be a test location for the upcoming Asteroids: Recharged and Avian Knights games by Alan-1 Inc. Alan-1 is a Utah-based game maker who is building their games right here in Utah – not China.

Avian Knights is a modern take on Williams’ classic Joust. You control a flying knight on a quest to defeat others in an arena. This features new weapons that you can pick up and wield, along with in-game music to elevate it from the classic Joust experience.

Asteroids: Recharged is the official return of Atari and Asteroids to the arcade scene. 1-2 players are thrown into a danger zone where asteroids and UFOs threaten you from every angle. This new version features updated visual, 2-player simultaneous play, new power-ups and more. Both games also feature online leaderboards where you can make a free account, track your best scores, and make new friends.

The Newgate Mall in Ogden also has some new hours starting June 1st:
